Tamora Williams, is a young African American woman who will stop at nothing to become a successful wealthy woman. She was born into poverty, in the Springfield, Massachusetts housing project. She born to a drug addicted mother, although Tamora aka Mora was raised in poverty, she was spoiled by her maternal aunt and uncle who showered her with gifts and love. Once she became a young adult, she set her path on fulfilling her dream. With the assistance of her cousin Brittani, she started a personal check-writing scam, this was a lucrative idea, but would be short-lived due to Britt getting arrested for unrelated charges.
This forged Mora back to ground-zero, with no education, unemployed and a dime to her name, Mora became adamant to discover another get rich hustle immediately. She teamed up with her friends, who were also sisters Ronya and Rachelle, they introduced Mora to the identity theft game. The women would steal an individual's identity, open a credit line at high end department stores, there they would purchase expensive merchandise, some they'd kept for themselves and the remainder they would sell on the block for half the MRSP. Mora fell knee deep into the game, but this too would be short-lived, as she and the other accomplice were arrested. Mora was sentenced to thirty-months in prison.
After her release she vowed to never return to prison, but was still adamant in becoming rich and successful. She opened a candle store company, called The Coin-Op" which was a facade for an underground makeshift casino. The monetary gains she garnered from her businesses, she laundered into a mother/child homeless shelter. The shelter instantly became a successful business venture, which gained media attention from the local city officials. Mayor Marcus who was also a young successful African American couldn't fathom how a young beautiful Black woman could have the success that Mora held.
He hated on her heavy and through his connects with the FBI and CIA, he asked them to conduct an illegal background investigation into Mora's past. It was during an annual Christmas party, that Mora and her "Get Money Crew" were all attendees, that Marcus executed his extortion plan on Mora. After the crowd started to dwindle, he invited her to his hotel room. She assumed he wanted to have intercourse with her, despite her presumptions of his sexuality, (which would later come into play). Marcus immediately went into detail how he was aware of previous illicit activities.
He demanded she pay him a hefty monthly extortion fee or he would expose her to the media. Mora knew she couldn't allow him to do that after the suucess she's garnered thus far. She obliged to his demands. Every month for several months she would drop off money to various discreet locations to Marcus and his boyfriend Corey. Marcus and Corey lived a very lavish lifestyle, with the surplus money he extorted from Mora they were able to live a more upscale life.
Mora was congenial with their agreement, Corey wanted more from Marcus which forced him to raise his extortion fee from Mora, she reluctantly agreed to the new arrangement. This continued for several more months, until Marcus became greedy and amped the fee even higher. Mora felt Marcus was taking advantage of her, but decided to continued to comply to his demands. But unbeknownst to Marcus, Mora's boyfriend, Ty'Eric whom she met during her prison stint was coming home from. She disclosed the extortion to him. Ty'Eric aka Ty was a known ex-gang member who didn't give a fuck about hurting someone.
